Biscotti are an interesting form of cookie. I’m the kind of person who likes fresh-out-of-the-oven warm, chewy, and melty chocolate chip cookies, so the crunchy Biscotti is far from being my favorite. Paired with tea however, and it’s not too bad.
But if there is a chewier alternative available, why not go for it? Raw Decadence offers such an option through their Biscolinos: a biscotti-shaped cookie-like treat that is chewy, packed with flavor, and finger-sized for perfect snacking.
Some of their appreciated attributes are listed below:
- They’re dehydrated, and not baked.
- They’re gluten, soy, and dairy-free (vegan friendly), contain no added refined sugars, and are cholesterol free.
- They contains no GMOs.
I was able to try a sampling of each of their five flavors:
That also came with a sweet thank you note:
Each pack comes with three of a certain flavored Biscolinos, and each is only 60 calories, so one whole pack can be eaten as a wholesome snack!
I tried Sesame Lime & Ginger first.
This flavor has a small kick to it from the ginger, and the sesame seeds are definitely prominent. The small ingredients list might also provide a clue to the spiciness:
Ingredients: California Almonds, Sesame Seeds, Natural Unsweetened Coconut, Organic Blue Agave, Golden Raisins, Dried Ginger, Organic Sea Salt, Vitamin E (used as a preservative), Monk Fruit, Cayenne Pepper, Lime Oil.
Coconut & Cacao Nibs was up next.
The cacao nibs were hard, and small enough to get stuck between your teeth, but I loved the coconut added into the mix!
Lemon & Coconut absolutely had some tang, but the golden raisins stole the show, looking like tiny specks of golden nuggets!
My favorite flavor was Cranberry & Cacao Nibs.
The cranberries provide a tartness that’s too good to pull away from!
And finally, Apricot and Cacao Nibs:
I am a big fan of the dried forms of big fruits (apricots, cherries, plums, pineapple, etc.), and so I appreciated the bright orange glimmers of apricot in this flavor. Another delicious win!
